Osteria Alpino first opened in 1919 in the centre of Mel in the province of Belluno amid the narrow stone streets and stories of the town. It was recently given a makeover, preserving its traditional character while creating a modern and welcoming space where the scent of the forest, the aromas of traditional cooking and exquisite attention to detail combine to welcome diners. The cuisine at Osteria Alpino is a fusion of tradition and innovation, preserving the authentic character of the dishes while still managing to surprise the palate. It takes its inspiration from the area, using local produce to craft delicious, creative offerings. But it also celebrates its local heritage, serving up old favourites like ‘pastin’ (the local sausage), lasagne, venison stew, polenta and lots of other flavoursome offerings.

One of the Osteria’s specialties is their excellent ‘pappardelle’ served with porcini mushrooms and crispy rosemary, a true flavour experience that melts in the mouth.
