Paderno di S.Gregorio n.A., October 4, 2010 The new Steambox combined convection/steam ovens of the vast Giorik range had one of the leading roles at the 5th edition of the Gastronomy Festival Les Etoiles de Mougins, which took place on the French Riviera last 10-12 of September. This French Festival is an extremely prominent international setting, capable of showcasing not only prestigious world talents in culinary art, but also the most interesting innovations in the field of catering equipment.
Throughout these 3 days, the small hamlet of Mougins and its streets were transformed into a busy gastronomic workshop, with initiatives aimed at the public, but also events dedicated to updating operators: competitions, baking tests, workshops which provided great visibility, even from the point of view of the media, to one of the most renowned gastronomic zones of all of France. Women had a main role in this edition. The organisation gave them the maximum attention by inviting exceptional figures such as Anne Sophie Pic, the only chef to obtain the Michelin Three Stars and guest of honour at the festival.
Only a small group of carefully selected cooks can participate at the gala. They competed against one another to the tune of recipes and creative genius with the technical support of the best catering trademarks and partners. On this stage, one of its kind in the world, Giorik was able to display STEAMBOX, the combined convection/steam oven which for the high efficiency it guarantees turned out to be the most suitable instrument for this type of manifestation. An essential prerogative for the success of the event is the technical reliability of the cooking equipment, subject to a particularly intense use and bound by the fast pace of a kitchen turned into a show. Thanks to the patented Giorik system, two methods of steam production are combined in Steambox: that generated by a boiler and that obtained instantaneously. This synergy takes the most advantage of 2 individual systems, overcoming their limits and thus obtaining exceptionally quick times for reaching the right temperature and recovery. This surprising feature, together with a unique humidity control system and the user-friendly touch screen control panel, is what allowed Giorik to be chosen as partner for the event.
Introduced in France with the brand TECNOX by Giorik by the dealer Eberhardt, STEAMBOX was awarded a prominent place at the manifestation, not only due to the non-competition demonstration performed by the chef Morgan Pasqual, owner of the restaurant I cinque sensi in Malo (Vi) and long-time collaborator with the company, but above all because it took part in setting up the 6 boxes equipped for the finals of the Young Chefs competition. Its compact shape and excellent performance at low energy consumption allowed the chefs to express their potentialities to the full, giving life to a high-level exhibition, very much appreciated by the selected jury and the vast audience present at the event.
