Giorik took part in the “Les Etoiles de Mougins” International Gastronomy Festival as a technical partner again this year. The festival was held from 16th to 18th September in the medieval town located inland on the Côte d’Azur, a few minutes from Cannes and Nice. For Giorik and its brands, attendance at the culinary event, which is now in its sixth year, has now become something of a tradition. Through Eberhardt, the event’s sponsor, Giorik once more confirmed the validity of its products as top technical support and a catering partner, making its technology, innovative skills and the reliability of the brand available to the world’s best chefs. The most exciting moments at the event stemmed from the eighty four star chefs, who contended for the prestigious winning title. Neither was it an easy decision for the all-star panel consisting of Serge Goulumèses, Sébastian Chambru, Philippe Joannés, Eric Finon, Denis Fetisson and Eric Frechon (Premier Chef at Le Bristol de Paris), who chaired the panel. The Italian chef Filippo Fiorentini (one Michelin star at Relais & Chateaux Arnolfo, Colle Val d’Elsa Siena) reached the final, but the first prize went to Francis Oge, Sous Chef of the kitchen brigade of the Presidency of the French Republic, in other words, the Élysée Palace. The “material” part of the prize, to the immense satisfaction of Giorik, was one of our Steambox combined steam ovens. “We rooted for the Italian cuisine represented by Filippo Fiorentini, who came fifth at the event, but when we found out that our oven was going to be installed in the kitchens of the Élysée Palace, pride overcame our patriotism” commented Paolo Candiago, Chairman of Giorik S.p.A. Giorik cooking instruments were the common denominator, linking together all the different aspects at the event. They were used in the challenges between top chefs, in the contest between promising, young chefs and at the demonstrations in the streets of Mougins, with kitchens set up to arouse the curiosity of passers-by and the aromas of recipes scenting the air. In the midst of all this, Giorik supplies demonstrated their reliability and versatility, and their ability to meet the various needs of chefs hailing from countries all over the world, each with their own traditions, cultures and creativity.
